Appeal for a little help

Dear Regular Readers:

WE HOLD THESE TRUTHS IS MOVING AHEAD!  But, we are not going forward as fast as those who are destroying our dollars, poisoning our children’s minds, making America the bully of the world, and dragging us backward as in the days of English colonialism and perpetual occupation of other peoples lands.  Back even further, sending us to the times of the Crusades and perpetual Serial Wars, and back further yet, toward the Dark Ages of intellectual poverty and feudalism.  We Hold These Truths is moving ahead anyway, because we know what God would have us do to change all this.  We cannot promise success, but we can promise we will do our best to do it Gods way.  We have not, will not stop, even when we are hurt.  One year ago we were wounded, but now He is healing us.

We must elevate our outreach to the thinking Americans in churches and on college campuses by ten-fold, perhaps even a hundred-fold.  That is our market, for we have learned what they need to know and how they are being deprived.  Part of our entire problem is funding.  The technical advances are available and must be paid for either in time or dollars.  If we scrimp on the dollars, it takes longer to do less:  “WE DO NOT HAVE THE TIME”.  The learning process is over; the educating process is here and now.  Many of our short, staggering steps have been necessary and are now behind us.

Great knowledge and wonderful writing skills (we ourselves do not claim to have either) do not insure success on the Internet.  In practice, knowledge alone is a virtual flame under a basket.  Some of the most knowledgeable and productive websites are almost unknown; and some of the most visited and widely read ones are intentionally counterproductive to freedom…they are controlled opposition, influenced to mediocrity by the same factions that control the broadcast media.  Yes, do not doubt it, there is an Internet power machine that is very ruthless, just as surely as there is a network TV machine to control content over the major media.  Its result is to limit non-business broadcasting like ours to a finite, monitored trickle.

One must be pro-active to get around this form of censorship, as Cindy Sheehan has gotten around the conventional media by being in its face.  It is not enough to have a website with great material.  A direct method of advertising is needed to draw people to our words.  Also, an “in their face” project is needed to show readers we mean business. We have developed both programs; we have tested them and we know their weaknesses and limitations, as well as their strength.  I stress the word “direct” advertising meaning targeted to the very audience we need to reach.  That audience is students and church-goers.  Church-goers because they are the primary enablers of the problem, and many do not even know it.  It is natural for then to turn because they support issues they should instinctively oppose.  College students are a target because they are always the power structure of the future.

WE HOLD THESE TRUTHS has encountered aggressive and ruthless resistance, especially to what weve done on the Internet, some of which we cannot share at this time for legal reasons.  We must not tolerate this censorship because the Internet is our best, and maybe last way to communicate.  No one cares very much how many letters, like this one, we send out through the US mail because it costs so much and the number we can reach is finite.  Internet censors care how many messages go out over the Internet because its potential is unlimited.   For instance, Microsoft Corporation claims to have sent 20 billion advertising e-mail ads in one year!

The resistance to our Internet messages comes from power sources opposed to what we say.  Even more dangerous, are those who resent that WE HAVE A LEGAL RIGHT TO SAY IT.  We do not, and have never sent “Spam” mail, which is properly deemed illegal, but we are accused of doing so and treated as though we do.   As the result of a public conditioning process, not unlike what sold Americans the fraud of “weapons of mass destruction,” most people have no idea that non-commercial e-mail is always legal in the USA.  Almost all of our mail is “non-commercial.”  This letter may be an exception because we are asking you to help us finacially.  Common sense is on our side, the law supports us.  The traditions of Ben Franklin and Thomas Payne, both authors and pamphleteers are with us, but still we are being censored.  We must not stop sending our mail to people who need our message. 

But in the last year we have been stopped, or restricted to 5%-10% of our capacity.  We soon will have an important announcement about our new Free Internet Speech Project that will require steady but modest fincial help. It will produce massive results.  So please, start helping if you do not. Freedom on the Internet is in grave question right now.

We Hold These Truths has increased our technology.  We finally have one full-time technician working on day-to-day needs.  We also have a skilled Systems Manager doing regular programming and administering our computer system, security, and development.  And we are actively seeking the key administrative and technical executive we need to insure the longevity of our effort.  This means someone to replace this author on many tasks that I no longer have time to do.  Discussions are being held with several persons.  This is the future of We Hold These Truths. Please do your part, I am prayerfully doing mine.

Volunteers are still our mainstay in answering mail and manning our Phoenix office from which we ship our books and tapes.  WHTT now has Webmail, which will soon be modified to make it possible for selected volunteers to work on our mail in their own homes.  Please let us know if you are willing to volunteer.  If you have volunteered before and did not get a job, it is because of technical shortcomings on our part.  Please ask again, telling us what you know how to do.

WE HOLD THESE TRUTHS has managed to do much in seven years with only an occasional request for donations.  You can contribute by mail or with a credit card on our website.  Regular contributors have carried our underlying cost, such as office and communications requirements.  Money has always come in from those who understand our mission and whenever we really have needed it.  Contributions, again, will put all our technical skills to work sending email.  This method, tested half a year ago, has been improved upon.  We now need to pay for the very lofty costs for a giant project.

Everyone knows there is a Guantanamo, but who knows what happened or is happening right now?  Is it a pattern for future internment camps such as we had to detain Japanese Americans during WWI? 

ENEMY ALIENS
Author: David Cole

Double standards imposed on foreigners are constitutionally suspect and counterproductive to America.  David Cole, Georgetown law professor, and civil liberties lawyer, has written a book that should be discussed especially in view of the fact that the media claims they find little on the subject.  Cole’s book discusses the double standards between Constitutional freedoms in the War on Terrorism. He reasons that in balancing liberty and security, the U.S. has consistently imposed measures on foreigners (now citizens of foreign decent) that Americans would not tolerate if applied more broadly to themselves. While such a double standard is politically easy, it is constitutionally suspect, counterproductive as a security measure, and ultimately illusory because history shows that acceptance of such treatment for outsiders paves the way for similar measures in use against American citizens.

THE INCREDIBLE SCOFIELD AND HIS BOOK
Author Joseph M. Canfield writes powerfully exposing the error of the dispensational system, showing how the book has to do with the promotion of that system, and how The Scofield Reference Bible originated.  Canfield did a ten-year comprehensive study of the evangelical dispensationalist’s most influential figure, more significant by far than Billy Graham or Jerry Farwell.  C. I. Scofield laid the groundwork for every “Left Behind” and rapture craze in America.  Oxford University Press published his book, the Scofield Reference Bible, in 1908. Amazingly, this is the first detailed, critical account of Scofields life, drawing from original documents, jail records, and family papers, also entailing a carefully concealed connection to Scofields financial sources and to world Zionism. Every Bible student should have a copy of this biography and would do well to read it.
