Soft-sell Zionist Christianity may be subtly taught in the spare rooms or basement of your church.
Structures classes of both invariably teach a version of “Christian Zionism,” by whatever name. We will dub the theology taught what we call it “Zionist Christianity Soft.” Precept Ministries (PM) and Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) influence otherwise Christian churches by subtly teaching Zionism Sunday Bible study classes. Unknowing churches facilitate this teaching, usually without understanding its tactics or the content.
PM and BSF teachers are trained and coached to allow little if any coaching or comment on the subject matter. They are usually church volunteers often called “Facilitators.” Teachers, by whatever name, are unpaid volunteers. Many are attendees of the targeted church, however, they are screened for their willingness to follow the BSF or PC agenda. They are discouraged from adding their views or opinions to the provided printed material.
What flavor of Christianity do these two organizations teach, and why are they accepted? This will be discussed in this short series. Pasters and layman members are not encouraged to evaluate what is being taught. A former Precept Ministry volunteer confirmed this to me. She had offered to teach and was interviewed as a (Facilitator) but was rejected. She realized later she was turned down because she voiced her opinions on one of two scriptural questions during her interview. This is despite her willingness (like other teachers) to devote her time gratis. Another former years-long volunteer “Facilitator” confirmed that she was taught not to comment on BSF (or PC) printed material.
Most mainline or traditional church leaders believe or teach what this writer calls “Zionist Christianity light.” It is thoroughly explained on whtt.org website. I am told these classes tend to bring attendance into the church at a low cost. Some churches are pressed for volunteers as well as for cash. Bible Study Fellowship and Precept Ministries help by operating largely outside the church’s budget, selling their study material at low costs to class members. The source of BSF and PC income is a subject for study, perhaps for a later edition.
CZ or BBF teaching is Zionism-soft kept so low-key that many church officials are often largely unaware of the context. More than one pastor has discovered this teaching to be questionable in light of his denomination’s teaching. A certain pastor told me he accepts this questionable teaching (or tolerates it) because “it builds church attendance.” Most do not recognize they are housing an international movement to promote “Christian Zionism.”
Jesus’ followers must understand and reject apostate movements inside their doors, be they ignorant or by design, as are those in this study. In later additions, we will discuss Christian Zionism’s teaching in more detail. I will rename it “Zionist Christianity,” meaning “Zionism” modifies or alters Christianity, rather than the misguided reverse. Christians should uproot Zionism from their churches and must never appear to endorse it.
