IS YOUR CONGRESSMAN FOR MORE WAR?

Mike Holland MD

Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-02) was on the floor of the House of Representatives formally calling for Iran to be referred to the UN Security Council.  Here are his words, judge for yourself:  “As a member of the House Armed Services committee, I can say to you that Iran is a growing threat to world stability and humanity itself.  It is vitally important for the world to understand the ideology that fuels the Iranian regime and that it is now actively seeking nuclear weapons capability.”
WHTT says: It is tragic that members of a committee of this importance would make such a lame-brained statement.  Of course every country has the ability to seek whatever they want to seek.  Iran has the ability to seek the winter Olympics if it wants, so what?
Franks repeats Bush’s stories on the path to war: “Since 1987, Iran has pursued a hidden nuclear program in flagrant violation of its treaty obligations. “
WHTT says: No one has proven this.  Virtually identical statements were made by the same warmaking crowd about Sadam Hussein in Iraq.  In fact, Iran has had UN inspectors most of this time, and no one with any credentials has verified one word of these charges. Franks is spouting old  war propaganda; apparently he has forgotten that Bush said the same things about Iraq four years ago…all of which has been proven untrue.
Franks continues: “Iran’s leaders have made it clear that they are opposed to peace.  The current president of Iran has repeated his ultimate objective of destroying Israel and the United States

WHTT replies: So says Trent Franks.  The only problem is the President of Iran has not said this.  He has correctly stated that the US and Israel are at the center of the war problem in the world, and everyone from Turkey to the North Pole knows that.  President Ahmadinejad’s said Israel should be” wiped off the face of the map”.  Many people agree that “Israel” is an illegal state and should never have been recognized.  But Israel, unlike Iran, has hundreds of nuclear weapons, so Iran is not going to give Israel the excuse it wants so badly to use those weapons.

Trent Franks says: “And we absolutely must not make the cataclysmic error of believing that those now ruling in Iran have only peaceful purposes in developing nuclear capabilities.”

WHTT says: It is clear who has warring intent, it is Congressman Franks.  He is an oil man.  His family business benefits from $60.00 per barrel oil. As far as I know he does not own a uranium mine.  Why does Franks think Iran does not have the right to heat and power their country with the same fuel France uses?  Two decades ago future Bush cabinet member, Donald Rumsfeld, lobbied Iran and North Korea to embrace nuclear energy for its people.  Was this just a well-laid trap set by the internationalists in the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) who dominate U.S. foreign policy?   Who would profit from another war in the Middle East more than the CFR and their “merchants of death” allies in the Carlyle Group (Bush family), Haliburton (Dick Cheney), Bechtel (George Schultz-Bush adviser and fmr. Sec. of State), et al?

So far, Iran has done nothing outside the bounds of international law. The world is in the grips of an energy shortage.  Any country that converts to nuclear power is helping the rest of us.  Iran has declining oil reserves, but it has the capital to do it from the oil they sell to the west.  Why not convert while they can afford it? If the USA was not paying for a trillion dollar war we could also convert to nuclear energy and save fifty percent on our heating bill.  Our nation s political landscape would then not be dominated by the Middle East, a part of the world which our neoconservative government finds so objectionable—that is, when it is not doing billion dollar deals with hereditary potentates in Dubai.  Let s get one thing clear:  It is Bush sycophant, Trent Franks, who is campaigning for war, not Iran.

ARE THESE THE ACTIONS OF A CHRISTIAN CONSERVATIVE?

Rep Trent Franks said nothing as the government, under Attorney General John Ashcroft and President George W. Bush, seized the Indianapolis Baptist Temple—the first seizure of an American church since the Revolutionary War.

Rep. Franks said nothing as President Bush selected a pro-abortion, anti-Second_Amendment nominee, Alberto Gonzales, to replace John Ashcroft as Attorney General.

Rep. Franks refuses to demand an accounting of $1.2 trillion dollars “missing” from the Pentagon under Comptroller Rabbi Dov Zackheim and President George W. Bush.

Rep. Franks continues to support a war that was known from the outset by the Administration to be based on lies and will ultimately cost untold thousands of lives and over $2 trillion.

Rep. Franks cast the decisive vote in favor of the Medicare prescription drug benefit, another unConstitutional, socialist boondoggle that will further bankrupt America.

How quickly our elected employees lose touch with their constituents and reality when they spend all of their time in Washington.  Can we afford to let our elected representatives huddle in secret in Washington behind closed doors to cast their votes?  In an era of Telecommunications and Internet why can’t they do the peoples’ business at home in their own districts? It’s time for the electronic congress.

Let’s BRING THEM HOME (a project of Strait Gate Ministry) where ‘we the people’ can keep a watchful eye on them, and we tell them how to vote—not lobbyists like Jack Abramoff.
