Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Matthew 7:15
By Charles E Carlson
Pastors have allowed Precept Ministries International bible studies to teach in their respective churches. Many may be surprised to learn that it may have undermined their pulpits teaching and the church’s humanitarian policy with an agenda that goes beyond sound Biblical doctrine.
Precept Bible studies are ubiquitous on the American landscape. Its veracity is seldom questioned because Kay Arthur, the ministry’s founder, is deemed above reproach. Because Arthur enjoys endorsements of a Who’s Who in American Christendom, the pastors of many of the churches that host her Bible studies are not aware that Dispensationalism or Christian Zionism is at the heart of her teaching.
Since Arthur founded Precept Ministries with her late husband, Jack, in 1970, the ministry has grown exponentially and impacted millions of people across the world. Arthur has written over 100 books and bible studies the daily program that she hosted for 20 years, which was seen in 30 countries, is still available online. Today, the couple’s son, David, serves as CEO.
Scripture warns in 1 John 4:1 that there are many false prophets in the world. Ironically, Arthur often uses the same endearing term when addressing her readers that the Apostle John used in this verse. “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
Arthur’s rise to prominence certainly did not occur in a vacuum. For decades, Christianity in the U.S. has been infiltrated by a Zionist agenda that has subtly subverted the Gospel message. Sadly, many consider being a Christian as synonymous with support for present-day Israel. Yet, even those who believe that Israel becoming an independent nation in 1948 was the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy would be hard-pressed to soundly argue that God gives a Carte Blanche endorsement for any people or any nation. Arthur’s unconditional support for Israel certainly goes beyond God’s conditions that were outlined in Deuteronomy 28.
Founder Kay Arthur, who has notoriously contended that if given a choice, would choose Israel over America, sponsors an annual tour of Israel, which coincides with the May 14 anniversary of its founding. The upcoming 2020 trip will be the ministry’s 40th excursion.
Arthur writes on the website: “BELOVED, I do hope you will join me in Israel for what I’m sure will be one of the most phenomenal experiences of your life. What could be more rich with meaning than studying the Word of God “in the land He calls His own.”
Arthur’s son, David’s quote, reveals the real mission of the pilgrimage “In the final chapter of Deuteronomy, God takes Moses to the top of Mount Nebo. From there, God showed him all the land of which He promised. This is the land of which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. I will give it to your offspring.”
We Hold These Truths has warned about the amalgamation of Zionist indoctrination with Christianity for over two decades. Precept Ministries was not on our radar until recent years. Sadly, we discovered that this ministry uses Bible studies, which are often offered at no charge through local facilitators as a ruse to promote Israel’s occupation of Palestine while desensitizing Bible study participants to the horrendous treatment of millions of Muslims and Christians who live in fenced stockades in Gaza and the West Bank.
For every Christian who can afford to accompany Arthur on her tours of Israel, thousands enroll in her Bible studies. Over the past several decades, untold numbers of American Christians have become inadvertent promoters of Israel’s warmongering. The oxymoron “Christian Zionist” movement is so vast that no political candidate can receive an endorsement from any recognized Christian leader or group without having an unequivocal “pro-Israel” position.
Sadly, although proselytizing is a mandate given by Jesus in the Great Commission, most U.S. Christian groups—including Precept Ministries—refrain from sharing the Gospel in Israel to maintain close ties with Israeli leaders. Since Precept Ministries teaches that the State of Israel is populated by “God’s Chosen People,” it appears that the ministry holds a dual-covenant theological position, which is antithetical to Biblical Christianity.
Precept Ministries was one of the first church organizations to accept Israel’s occupation as moral and legal publicly. Students of Arthur’s annual tours and her Bible studies are brainwashed to believe that the end justifies the means concerning the nation of Israel usurping Palestinian land, even if bloodshed is required to do so. Christians have been coerced into believing that this type of violence is acceptable because of so-called Bible teachers like Arthur.
There are many Christians who believe that the State of Israel is the “fulfillment of biblical prophecy,” who do not advocate for such violence. However, unfortunately, the vast majority of our nation’s evangelical leaders have a Zionist agenda and promote one another as well as politicians who turn a blind eye to the crimes of the Israeli government.
The presumption of Israel’s holiness is a primary tenant of Precept Ministries’ teaching. Several of the largest, Traditional, or Mainline denominations have joined the recent call by humanitarian organizations for the boycott of Israel because of its heinous treatment of its Arab population. Unfortunately for the Gaza victims, many local churches, within these denominations allow Precept Ministries to conduct Bible Studies within church facilities. Among these are congregations we know of within the United Methodist Church, Presbyterian Church USA, The Episcopal Church, The Lutherans (ELCA), and the United Church of Christ.
In the months ahead, We Hold These Truths will shed some light on Precept Ministries’ unbiblical promotion of temporal conflicts. We also will be exposing the Zionist-leanings of other significant and influential Bible study ministries that are quietly and subtly at work within both Dispensational and Mainline churches. We certainly welcome any insight you may have.
We admonish one another to consider the reality of 1 John 4:1 soberly: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

Serious question. Is Christian Zionist even an accurate term for that sub-set? They focus on OT prophesy, and all but entirely ignore every word Jesus ever spoke (unless it can be twisted to fit their twisted ideology). Sounds more like a certain other religion that ignores Jesus as well to me
OF THOSE WHO SAY THEY ARE JEWS AND ARE NOT
Surely we know
— That individuals possessing more than a trace amount of ancient Jewish blood in the modern world are to be sought for only among the Palestinians (and compare Zechariah 13:7-9 with Matthew 26:31 and Mark 14:27, and Isaiah 65:1-16 with Romans 10:20-21); but that the Judaic group of today does not descend from the Jews of the Bible, but rather from various early Medieval convert groups, chiefly Khazar (a Ukrainian tribe situated across the Black Sea from the ancient province of Asia converted en masse in 740 A.D. and exiled beginning c. 965 to Poland) and pre-Islamic Arab, that sprouted up in those days each one in its region and so came to form collectively — this being, of course, an ideologically rather than ethnically determined category — “the Synagogue of Satan, those who say they are Jews and are not, but are lying” (Revelation 3:9), prophesied to arise.

Thank you for stating what i have been saying for years: that “Christian” zionism is an oxymoron.
By definition a Christian is Christ’s servant.
A zionist is only Satan’s lackey.
A study of Deu 28 reveals that the zionists/ Pharisees are gentiles ….. Deu 28: 43. The strangers/aliens (gentiles) among you will be the head and you shall be the tail. This sets up Rev 3:9 as the next prophesy to be fulfilled.
The curses of Deu 28 are on them and their descendants FOREVER ….Deu 28:46. Those today calling themselves Jews and living by the Talmud and NOT suffering the curses are therefore gentiles.
Gods word is Gods word. You haven’t censored me you’ve censored God.
Joel W: you are correct in your comments. Many evangelicals believe in dual covenant theology: the OT is for Jews and the NT is for Christians. This, of course, is a complete twisting of Scripture since Jesus is the Messiah as promised in the OT. Jews, Gentiles, and the entire world need to accept Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world. I blame Kay Arthur, John Hagee, and most the the TV preachers for this perverted theology. Sad.
, THE BIBLE TELLS US THAT GOD SAID, THAT OUT OF 1,000 WOMEN, HE FOUND NONE, AND OUT OF 1,000 MEN HE FOUND ONE (1) , GOD ALSO MADE IT VERY CLEAR THAT WOMEN WERE NOT TO TEACH MEN, BU THEIR CHILDREN, ONLY.
ALL CULTS HAVE BEEN STARED BY WOMEN, AND IS ONE OTHER REASONS WHY THE SHEEP HAS BEEN DECIVED, BY SATAN,
GOD REMAINDED US IN HIS WORD , THAT THE BELIEVERS ARE BEEN DESTROYED, BY SATAN FOR LOCK OF UNDERSTANDING OF HIS WORD. FOR MAN WAS CREATED FIRST THEN THE WOMAN, F0R IT WAS NOT THE MAN (ADAM),THAT WAS DECIVED, BUT THE WOMAN (EVE), ADAM WAS NOT DECIVED HE TRANSGRESED, BY SEEING EVE CHANGED AFTER SHE ATE OUT OF THE FORVIDEN FRUIT, OF THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE, GOD NEVER ASSIGNED A WOMAN TO TEACH A MAN ON SPIRUTAL MATTERS, REASON WHY SATAN HAS USED WOMEN TO START CULTS, THAT SATAN USES TO BRING MAN INTO BY FIRST MISSLEADING THE WOMAN MAN FOLLOWS IF HE IS NOT SPIRUTALY LED BY GOD.
