Five months before the war against Iraq in 2003 started, Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) declared that a war against Iraq would be a “just war” according to his and other evangelical leaders’ interpretation of the Bible. Fast forward to 2016 and it still appears that Southern Baptists have a way to go before they can be called peacemakers.
