What does Israel’s war against the Palestinian Arabs in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip have in common with America’s serial wars all over the globe, now centered in Afghanistan?
The common denominator is American money and weapons.
It is not necessary to go to Gaza to understand this, so long as you do not trust the American media. I met people who live in the gulag called Gaza, and I learned to appreciate their dignity and ability to govern themselves, and to live under nearly impossible circumstances.
Israel is responsible for every death, but it is manipulated by its American financiers to commit the genocide. If the world’s only superpower gives weapons of mass destruction to the Israelis, everyone involved must know Israel will use them.
In every fight or squabble, including those of our children, there is an aggressor–a perpetrator. In some fights, the victim wins by will…we Americans love these heroic tales. We are told the Palestinians are the aggressors, which is as ridiculous as to believe that a six-year old child would attack a 90-pound pit bull; it could happen but it never does.
Most wonder why Americans will not do their part by ending their aid to the Pit Bull, Israel.
It appears the war has impoverished Palestinians while the Israelis seem to prosper, but this too is an illusion. In poverty the life style of the Palestinians is strong in their trust in God and commitment to the family.
In contrast, Israel\’s moral decay is epidemic in every conceivable direction. One measure of this divergence in character between these neighbors, separated by a fence, is found in abortion rates. The killing of unborn is almost unknown in Gaza. Israel has one of the highest rates in the world. Israel denies the right to life of the Palestinians and it fails to recognize the right to life of its own children.
There is no denying that the USA government is the principle Warmaker upon the Palestinian people. I stood on my rented rooftop and watched sortie after sortie of high flying American F-16s deliver dozens of bombs and missiles upon a refugee camp where many homes are made of dirt.
When we force our government to stop funding the military aid to Israel the war will stop overnight. There is no need for another Oslo Accord or a Washington-initiated peace. Stop US military aid to both Israel and the Palestinian Authority and peace will come.
