US politicians love to pledge their allegiance to Israel, when given a chance. Sen. Ted Cruz demonstrated this in his address to the 2016 AIPAC convention. “Israel is a democracy that shares our values.” The concept of “shared values” should include the American and Israeli governments’ treatment of their respective, indigenous populations, Indians and Palestinians. Here are two examples that come to mind.
