 WARD REILLY WRITES

Greetings from Baton Rouge…I just wanted to say that the Tillman article is outstanding.

I am a close friend of Cindy Sheehan, and today (Sunday, 29th) would have been her son Casey’s 26th birthday.

Pat is a hero…his parent are heroes, Casey is a hero, Cindy is a hero, and YOU are a hero for writing about them, at least in my book. It is going to take this type of article to stop this disaster in Iraq, being run by a group of people that did everything possible to keep from the last unjust war, that being Viet Nam.

Peace to you from an old infantry veteran, Ward Reilly, SE national contact person for Vietnam Veterans Against the War, and Veterans For Peace-Ward Reilly, First Infantry Division, 1971-1974

ABN WRITESHey, Forget it. You are against Gods program for Israel [and who knows What else].

BRAD GOLDING WRITES

This is a copy of an email I just sent to the PM. (Prime Minister)

I doubt it will be read by many of you; it will likely be filtered out by ever vigilant staffers.  That even one of you might read this is why I bother when I see such criminal behavior by those in high places.

I went to Vietnam to support “Freedom and Democracy” and for what?  I saw the destruction of a beautiful place and the damage inflicted on a beautiful people.  I cannot bear to watch what we are now doing to Iraq.

I am a strong supporter of maintaining a credible defense force in this country with the best equipment we can afford, but I am damned if I can support a government using those fine men and women, and spending so much money, to support a criminal administration in the US.

Its people like you who give Christianity a very bad name.  You are a bunch of anti-Semitic Jew/Israel haters.  The Moslems are the only terrorists in the world today and you defend them?! What will you do when the Islamic fascist Nazis bomb your church or hometown?

 H. FOX WRITES FROM ISRAEL

Charles, oh Charles, my dim but charming friend, may I act as a lamp on your misguided path.  First, the followers of Jesus did not take their message to the temples, for it was already destroyed and there was no Reform Jewish movement at the time to call synagogues temples.

Secondly anytime you quote Galatians’ you are rocky ground.  This document was perjured and reconstructed to suit early Christianity’s needs.

Geonocide in Palestine?  not even close sir.  Sharon and Hitler, different kettle of fish altogether.  As Jesus would say, “take a pill and call me in the morning.”

Shalom from Israel….H fox

RAFF ELLIS WRITES

Im a long way from Carolina but thought you might have adherents there who could be motivated to do it.  There is a dispensationalist Methodist Church in my area that I wrote a column about and which I sent the pastor–asking if I could supply a speaker to counter what was said at the meeting I attended.  He never answered.  These people don’t seem to be interested in countervailing views.

Project Strait Gate pickets churches because they rarely offer any forum for views that oppose “public policy.” -lets start a team there! Ed

 JAN BAUMAN WRITES

(In part)

Thanks for this excellent commentary. Last night here in Mill Valley,

CA we attended the local Methodist Church where Mill Valley Seniors for

Peace (average age 86) held an event for peace. Cindy Sheehan made her

second appearance here in Marin County. What an amazing articulate

woman she is! We were also treated to a talk by our courageous member

of Congress, Lynn Woolsey, who is outspoken in her criticism of the war

against Iraq. Last week she offered an amendment to the Defense (the

word should revert to “War”) ….

…..Lynn has come a long way in her 12 years in Congress. It was a given

that any vote regarding Israel would be just as AIPAC wanted. A few

Years ago a group of us, mostly Jewish, including me, went to see Lynn

to educate her on the horrors of the brutal Israeli occupation. My fax

worked overtime sending her articles that came either from the Israeli

press or Israeli peace groups…..

…….A few years ago Lynn held a forum in the county and after the event I

asked one of her aides if AIPAC came down heavy on Lynn. With a deep

sigh he replied that she is called in for meetings with AIPAC

representatives and that some of them are nice but some of them are

absolutely ruthless. At our last meeting with Lynn in her office she

told us that after her second vote opposing AIPACs position, an ultra

Zionist member of Congress came up to her and said that if she has any

opposition in the 2006 primaries he will do his best to see that she is

defeated….

….Thanks for your writings and the activities of your church.

MARGARET WRITES

Just a quick note to tell you that while preparing an email to Nancy Pelosi regarding her recent speech to AIPAC I discovered your web site.  Thank you.

I wrote to Ms. Pelosi to object to her speech and to let her know that I was disappointed in her.  I told her that I found the fact that she flew TOWARD Gaza, while viewing the “security wall”, interesting but suggested that a trip INTO Gaza may have helped complete her view of the Middle East.  So that she could see what it was like to be occupied and treated like an animal.

There was more, I spoke about the Israeli land grabs, for example.  I also asked her if nuking Iran was a done deal (now that the U.S. military is developing nuclear bunker busters using our hard-earned taxpayer money and Israel considers them a threat).

Ill be visiting your site – would it be possible for you to add dates to your articles?  In the Gaza Strip Special Report section the only segment that lists a year is the first one (the Stone-Throwers article) and I’m curious about when C.E. Carlson went there?  Very enlightening.

Keep up the good fight – I’m with you!

EDITOR- in some of our older articles the date appears only in the URL, look there. For instance  “articles/030409” found in the address bar of you browser means April 9, 2003.

ALSO, Margaret has reminded us, our series on Gaza needs to be put in a small book, and we can use some editing help.

The Stone Throwers” would be a good name for it.
