“Return of the Body Snatchers” was a frightening experience for some. It has brought a rewarding response. Many liked the fictional approach of the Body Snatcher, and felt this visitor from outer space made a complicated matter simple. We appreciate hearing from those who have volunteered to help, you will hear from us individually. We Hold These Truths is largely a volunteer organization and our objective is to gain wide distribution of Pharisee Watch and our other publications.
We also thank those who did not believe us for answering. We are taking the liberty to answer the most often asked questions and comments, both the favorable and unfavorable alike.
This is our first fictional portrayal of a real problem as viewed by a mythical business agent from outer space’s making a decision about our own world. We have summarized a great deal of data in a few words. The Body Snatcher, in his report to his big boss on some other galaxy, is able to express what he thinks without proving it. He is evaluating Earth on a subjective basis, and is unhindered by conscience and morality. The problem is not so easy for us.
For those readers who don’t agree with the Body Snatcher’s conclusion, or want hard facts to back up them up, we hope you will take the trouble to read our website. This Orwellian account of the problem is the introduction to a series that will cover the points made in some detail with be presented in many subsequent editions of Pharisee Watch.
We have been asked if We Hold These Truth’s writers are spiritualists who believe in ETs (extra terrestrial beings). The answer is no, at least this writer does not; those who asked probably did not read the story to its conclusion.
We have also been asked if “Pharisee Watch” is an “anti-Semitic” publication, and some few who wrote accused us of this alleged sin. The answer is no, we are not anti-Semitic but we are against those who are anti-Christian, and we know Jesus was because he talked about it. Sadly, in the mind of some the truth becomes irrelevant if the anti-Semitic questions can be raised. Not one of the complainants even told us what he meant by the term or where the alien went astray.
And not one complainer mentioned the 334 Palestinians, many children, who have been shot to death in the last 12 months. No one asked about the deliberate sniper assassination of 12 year old Mohammed al Durra, shot as his father tried to protect him in his homeland of occupied Gaza, nor were there complaints about the killing of 13 year old Fares Udah, who was captured in an unforgettable photograph, throwing a rock at an Israeli tank on October 29th, and who was shot down, dead, by a sniper 11 days later. No wonder the Space Alien was surprised to find that American taxpayers financed the tanks and bullets, and that the Christian leadership said nothing.
For those who wrote, and for those who are thinking about what the Body Snatcher concluded but who have not yet decided where the truth lies, we invite you to study the many articles on our website, setting aside an hour or more to read items going back to our founding over four years ago.
Writer, TV show host and ancient language translator, Ezra Aharon, formerly of the Jewish faith and now a committed Christian, is fond of saying, “anti-Semitism once meant those who hated Jews, but anti-Semitism now means those who Jews hate.” Several of those who wrote comments clearly follow the latter definition. But Christian Pharisees go a step beyond Mr. Aharon’s definition and use this frightening term to describe anyone who opposes the political realm of the State of Israel as an anti-Semite, and some even criticizing those who object to the Israeli Government’s recent killing of Palestinian children on almost a daily basis.
Who are the Pharisees, we are asked, are they all Jewish, some have asked. No, quite a few Pharisees identify are Christian leaders, many Celebrity Christians. Pharisee Watch opposes those who oppose Christian cultural regardless of their professions. But we have no intention now or ever of ignoring the crimes of any group, including those usually considered “Semitic”.
We Hold These Truths is preparing “The Narrow Path” soon to be published as a pamphlet about the dilemma of our times. We in no way dodge the conclusions drawn by the space agent, though of course we, as Christ followers, do not have the liberty to employ his methods, even if we had the ability to do so. We concur that “Christ Followers” must take charge of their own turf. We are the swing vote in the affairs of our country, if not the majority, let us act like it for a change. Let us join with all men of all faiths who can agree upon the principles that Christ taught. But we urge you to examine what Christ said for yourself form his own words, not from the mouths of modern day Pharisees and scribes.
