We always welcome challenges here at We Hold These Truths. In this dynamic, 23 minute program, we address an email sent to Chuck Carlson from “Miss Vicky.” Chuck starts his reply: “No, Miss Vicki, I do not want to “see millions of Jews killed during the Second Coming,
as you wrote to us. But, I am more worried about you because it appears that you
believe the false doctrine you quoted me, and, more than likely, you spread it. Your doctrine is
called Christian Zionism, and, it causes millions to see Jesus as a
destroyer of Jews unless they are converted to Jesus first. Let’s talk
about it as two followers of Christ, trying to correctly follow Him.” Our program includes a discussion about C.I. Scofield and his reference Bible. (Check out “The Shadowy Origins of C.I. Scofield: Godfather of Christian Zionism” for a more in depth look at Scofield, and, our documentary, Christian Zionism: The Tragedy & The Turning, Part I as mentioned in the program.) Thank you so much for your detailed explanation of Cyrus Scofield’s key role in the founding of Christian Zionist doctrine in the early decades of the 20th century. I’m also very interested to learn more about more recent developments, and wanted to ask whether you’re familiar with the following: Some months ago, I read an article which presented what its writers claimed was a further critical step in the emergence of the powerful Christian Zionist movement we see today. They maintained that the powerful movement of today emerged only in the 1970s, as a result of an Israeli intelligence operation in Palestine designed to bring a small non-political Christian refugee-aid organization into alignment with Israel’s political aims. They maintained that until that time, this organization had strongly resisted all political alignment, and sought to assist refugees of all religious persuasions. But, over time, using cunning maneuvers, the Israelis were gradually successful in bringing this Christian organization under the Israeli umbrella – and this was the origin of the many millions-strong fanatically pro-Israel Christian Zionist movement of today. I’ve been unable to find that article. Are you familiar with this thesis? Thank you very much for anything you can tell me.
