An informed and determined grassroots-citizens campaign is well on its way to be defeating one of the most diabolical clever and enormously funded, media promoted schemes ever to hit the Congress. But sadly, over 100 nationally influential and media-visible Christian leaders have sided with the schemers.
Christian laymen have a right and duty to expect their every leader to be Ezekiels “Watchman on the wall”, being responsible for the blood of those who die for failure of the watchman to sound the alarm. Leaders, whether hired or self-appointed, should be no less responsible for their acts than the shivering sentry who is expected, at penalty of his own life, to stay awake on guard. Both have life and death responsibility to those who trust them. Activist Christians live in a war zone. Who has seduced these leaders to follow false gods? What weakness is being exploited? The answers have been revealed in the actions of more than 100 religious leaders who have openly supported revolutionary legislation known as “The Freedom from Religious Persecution Act.”
To understand the Christians role in this current revolution, let us review the most destructive event in the first 20 centuries of Christian history-the Bolshevik Revolution. Grigoryi Efimovich Rasputin posed as a monk and inveigled his way into the court of Russian Czar Nicholas II, where he wielded influence over the Romanov family through Nicholas consort, Alexandra. Many Russians believed at the time that Rasputin was the Biblical anti-Christ and thought the royal family worshipped him. The Romanovs were to pay with their lives for trusting the apostate Christian pretender, and millions of Russians were starved and slaughtered over the next 70 years by the Bolsheviks.
Financing for the Revolution came largely from international bankers from outside the country. Leon Bronstein (Trotsky) brought Wall Street-provided money, New York-recruited revolutionaries, and the blessing of the President of the United States for the Revolution. European financial backers transported Lenin, with 32 Bolsheviks, to Russia in a private, sealed railroad car. His funding arrived by bank draft. The Bolshevik Revolution did not happen-it was purchased by internationalist banking organizations with a goal of world government, as detailed by Anthony Sutton in Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution. (Arlington House 1981)
The so-called Freedom From Religious Persecution Act, HR2431/S772, is not about protecting Christianity; it is about world political power, and it, like the Bolshevik Revolution, is being purchased and paid for by powerful non-government organizations. It is part of a campaign to establish a world warmaking agency under direct control of the super-powerful Office of Religious Persecuting Monitoring, outside the control of the Congress. It is to be a radical, counter-Constitutional shift of warmaking power from our elected representatives to the Executive Branch de facto.
The Bolshevik mentality behind this law would have done Trotsky and Lenin proud. It is a Soviet-style thought-control department in the hands of one man, the Director of the Office of Religious Persecution Monitoring. The ORPM Director becomes a non-elected Commissar with warmaking powers that our President does not currently have. Until 1945, America had a “War Department,” but not even the “Secretary of War” had the power to make war without the declaration of Congress. The new ORPM Director will.
Many Christian laymen cynically suspect that congressional leadership sells out their constituents to power groups. But, they do not expect to be sold out by Christian leadership. These religious leaders have become the American Rasputin. Knowingly or by their failure to be watchmen, they are leading a lemming march over a cliff to world government.
How did the secular Warmakers amass such influence over Christian leaders who pride themselves for independence and adherence to principle? According to Congressman Wolfs Congressional Website, these leaders include James Dobson?s Focus on the Family, Gary Bauer?s Family Research Council, Don Argyle of the National Association of Evangelicals, Chuck Colson?s Prison Fellowship Ministry, Richard L. Land, President of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the mighty Southern Baptist Convention, Reverent Dr. Davis Adams head of the Office of Government Information of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and almost 100 other organizations as diverse as The Anti-Defamation League, the U.S. Catholic Conference, and Zwemer Institute of Muslim Studies Anti-Defamation League, The U.S. Catholic Conference, and Zwemer Institute of Muslim Studies. http://www.house.gov/wolf/.
The warmakers have achieved their inexplicable hold over the leadership of the Christian right by the power of the purse. Senior Fellow at Hudson Institute Michael Horowitz is the messenger, carrying the cash to buy the revolution for his Warmakers bosses. His job is to beguile religious leaders into demanding international government by convincing them that U.S. Government should police the world in search of religious persecution, and that our governments warmaking authority to sanction and embargo governments and even individuals, should be transferred from Congress to one Presidential-appointed Director. Not surprisingly, this is done under the guise of protecting religion. Even if the bill is defeated, the result will be to confuse and weaken the effectiveness of Christians in our society, as Rasputin did in religious Russia.
We Hold These Truths refers to the organization(s) who fund Mr. Horowitz as “the Warmakers” because the result of their acts will be war. Horowitzs stated employer is the Hudson Institute, which in turn has seven members of the Council on Foreign Relations on its Board, including Chairman of the Board Walter P. Sterns.
Early in 1996 Horowitz teamed up with Nina Shea, an employee Freedom House, to promote the federal religious monitoring. Ms. Shea later wrote “In the Lion?s Den”, detailing the promotional effort in considerable detail. In May 1996, Congressman Frank Wolf introduced the bill legally titled “To Provide for the Office of Religious Persecution Monitoring and to Provide for the Imposition of Sanctions Against Countries Engaged in Patterns of Religious Persecution and for Other Purposes”.
Freedom House, was founded in 1943 by Wendell Wilkey and Eleanor Roosevelt Wendell Wilkey and Eleanor Roosevelt to promote world government, and specifically for the creation of the United Nations, which was accomplished three years later. Nineteen members of the inter-nationalist, Council on Foreign Relations dominate its Board. See: https://whtt.org/HR2431.htm.
It is documented that Horowitzs and Sheas efforts to promote the Freedom from Religious Persecution Act began at least 18 months before the bill was written. At least $2 million dollars was spent entertaining leaders of the Christian right in order to condition them to accept, and even demand, the soon-to-be introduced the Wolf ?Specter Bill, HR2431. This figure is the authors estimate of the Warmakers investment, based upon a conservative guess of cost of the promotion detailed by Nina Shea in her book, more money than Trotsky carried in his brief case when he was shipped to Russia in 1917 to buy a government!
It is curious that Christian leaders would follow the political lead of Freedom House and Hudson Institute, organizations that are overwhelmingly secularist in leadership, with long histories of promoting United Nations world government, and who have shown little historic concern for Christian persecution. https://whtt.org/HR2431.htm
An example of Horowitzs tactics aimed at influencing Christian
leaders appears in an April 6, Washington Times a
rticle entitled, “State Department Lobbies Against Religious Freedom Legislation”, by Tom Carter. Horowitzs recurring false theme is that the Clinton Administration and State Department are vehemently opposing HR2431, and that the President may veto it. This child-psychology tactic is to convince Christian leaders that they must favor the bill because Clinton is against it. “Senior staff members in the International Relations Committee report to us that this is the most intense administration campaign in opposition to any bill they had ever seen,” states author Carter.
We suspect these are Horowitzs own ideas wrapped in the quote marks, because if such pressure from Clinton really existed there is no reason Republican Congressional staffers would not own up to it. Quotes without a verifiable source are meaningless yellow journalism. Horowitz is probably the ghostwriter of the story, a function he has performed repeatedly.
In a letter to Wolf dated October 16, 1997, Horowitz admitted ghost authorship of the bill and states that among its purposes is to pull down the government of Sudan. He also states that he copied the sanctions used to topple the government of South Africa. In other words, the Warmakers agent, Horowitz, admits the purpose of the bill is to make war on foreign governments.
Michael Horowitz is quoted in the Times as saying, “This bill will lay down markers on U.S. Foreign policy ? it is a defining moment in the history of U.S. foreign policy.” This is true, it is indeed a drastic change in foreign policy, but it is a disastrous one for the American people.
HR2431/S772, The Freedom from Religious Persecution Act, will facilitate central control of religion all over the world. The bills sponsorship is dependent on a radical view of world racism. Its promoters are forever raising a racial, often Jewish, question, and they employ the tactic of playing upon the holocaust-guilt emotion of Christians toward Jews. In the Times story the author tells us “The State Department is terrified of a campaign like this one against Soviet anti-Semitism”. These words are merely a diversion and lack logic when examined. The State Department is dominated by appointed Jewish bureaucrats, including Secretary of State Madeline Albright, assistant Cohen, National Security Advisor Berger, Ambassadors Indyk and Lurtzer to name a few, none of whom are noted for being anti-Semitic.
There is no more illogical specter in American politics than the
likes of James Dobson, Gary Bauer, Pat Robertson and Billy Graham following non-Christian leadership, marching their followers off a lemmings cliff. Christians should wonder what theological tactics were used to forge so unlikely a liaison, and how such legislation can possibly find support from so-called conservative Republicans, much less from the supposedly Washington-savvy “Religious Right” leadership: “Using Christians to Make War”.
Christians are following non-Christian leadership, as did the hapless Russians in 1917 when they accepted the Bolshevik. Senator Arlen Specter, Congressman Wolf, New York Times correspondent A. M. Rosenthal, and Horowitz frequently appear at Christian-sponsored meetings and churches. According to LIGHT, March/April 1988, The Ethics and Religious Liberties Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention sponsored a “Summit” meeting on February 4, at the posh Washington Court Hotel, to “Demonstrate a new depth of support of the legislation”. Speakers at the head table included Specter, Rosenthal, Chuck Colson and event promoter Dr. Richard L. Land
The message offered by non-Christians bill promoters at Christian meetings are typified in A. M. Rosenthal column in the New York Times, dated February 11,1997, in which he chided Christians openly. Said Rosenthal “A few clergymen and their religious organizations try to arouse congregations, but astonishingly only a few. If I were a Christian, I would complain that Christian leaders, political, religious and businesses (sic), around the world have failed in their obligation to fight oppression of their co-religionists.”
Horowitz is quoted in a similar vein by James Dobson in the April, 1997, Family News In Focus as telling Dobson, “If I had written a story about anti-Semitism I would have been overwhelmed by support from the Christian community but when Christian persecution was involved the Christian community seems tongue-tied and embarrassed.”
Warmakers agents have reduced the art of taunting, embarrassing, and intimidating Christian Leaders to a propaganda art form. The standard line quoted and over again in the press can be paraphrased as, “Shame on you, Christians! Why dont you protect your own kind? If it was us Jews being persecuted around the world we would cause the government to do something about it.” Apparently many Christian leaders have fallen for the line.
Another reoccurring theme that is drummed into the normally Republican religious right leadership is: “If Bill Clinton is against HR2431, you Christians would be fools not to be for it.” The specious nature of this argument is exposed in the We Hold These Truths press release dated September 12, 1997, entitled “Please, don?t throw me in the briar patch.”
Have our leaders forgotten Pauls admonition, “Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14). With such a clearly stated marching order, how can the leaders of Christians fall under the influence, control, and domination of non-Believers and still expect to lead?
Republican Majority Leader, Trent Lott, House Speaker, Newt Gingrich, and Dick Armey have all committed to support HR2431. In March, the Republican leadership rushed the bill through the powerful House Foreign Services Committee, chaired by sympathetic Benjamin Gilman of New York, by an overwhelming 31-5 margin. It is hurtling through Congress on its way to a vote on the House floor, where it has seemingly insurmountable support.
But the bill can and will be defeated because it is now becoming understood, not by the leaders, but by an informed minority of the activist citizens who are catching on.
Who, then, is responsible for watching the watchman? “If the watchman sees the sword come, and blows not the trumpet, and the people be not warned, if the sword come, and take any person from among them, his blood will I require at the watchman?s hand.” (Ezekiel. 33-6)
The Bible seems to say that God will hold these leaders responsible according to His judgment. But, we who are informed are also watchmen. It is the Christian laymen and supporters who fund these leaders. The contributor is also responsible for overseeing the proper application of his tithes and gifts-this is called stewardship. By monetary and other support, we have paid for the false witness that has brought the Warmakers revolution to our gates.
Laymen in increasing numbers are asking their leaders to back up their arguments, and they are not getting truthful answers. They want to know what pressures are behind the false witness of their leaders, and leaders are reluctant to tell them. Grass roots groups and individuals are opposing the bill, and some of these now include state and local leaders of the very organizations that are supporting HR2431/S772.
In order to win, laymen must demand that these religious leaders admit their mistake and withdraw from the liaison with those who are carrying out an evil agenda. If laymen fail to correct their own leaders, they too are guilty of failing God and their own children as watchmen on the wall. “For not he that commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends”. (2 Corinthians 10:18).
There is every chance to defeat HR2431/S772. In the few days
or weeks that remain, letters and faxes must be sent to Senators demanding a “NO” vote on HR2431 (S772). Where appropriate, the letters should firmly state that the writer repudiates the position of certain named Christian leaders. Copies of these letters and should go to appropriate religious leaders on both sides of the issue.
