Palestinian Christians In The Shadow of Christian Zionism

Most American Christians are unaware of the plight of Palestinian Christians

This is the Baptist Church in Gaza.  Most American Christians are unaware of the plight of Palestinian Christians.

Millions of American Christians have been conditioned to ignore the plight of Palestinians, including their Palestinians brothers and sisters in Christ. Our Palestinian pastor friend, Rev. Alex Awad explains, in this article, the effects of Christian Zionism on Palestinian Christians. [Ed.-TEC]

The Christian Zionists don’t see the difference between the two covenants; the old covenant between God and Israel (wich was based on faith, believe in God and not on race), has already for a long time disappeared. When Jesu died on the cross, the old covenant (Old Testament) came to an end. And it is in the Old Testament where we find numerous prophecies about the restoration of the Jews to Israel. A part of those were fulfilled just after the Babylonian Exile when a believing remnant returned to Israel. The other part of these prophecies couldn’t be fulfilled because of Israel’s disobedience. After the eviction of the Jews out of Israel (Emperor Hadrian drove the Jews out of Israel in 132 AD), we find nowhere in the Bible a second regathering of the Jews to Israel. The great mistake wich is made by the Christian Zionists is this: They apply all those prophecies in the Old Testament on current Israel. Furthermore, the Christian Church has emerged out of Israel. This doesn’t mean that the Church is a “Jewish” Church. Let’s take as an example Jesus and His disciples; during the ministry of Jesus, Israel was still under the old covenant. When Jesus died, the new covenant (New Testament) began. So, the disciples who were under the old covenant before Jesus died came after His death under the new covenant together with those who would believe later on in Jesus. So, those Jews who believed in Jesus during His ministry when they were still under the old covenant became after His death the New Israel, the Christian Church. Initially, all the members of the early church were Jews. Later on, however, the Gentiles (non-Jewish believers in Christ) were added to the Church. And they all became one in Christ Jesus. And this means that our Palestinian brothers and sisters in Christ are a part of the New Israel It is this New Israel, however, wich is nowadays persecuted by unregenerated Jews and deluded Christian Zionists alike! And this happens under the pretext of “The Palestinians are anti-Semitic because they wish to destroy Israel”. They must be stopped. It is not for nothing that the Apostel, Paul, (himself a Jew) once said the following:

“For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision; Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things wich they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.” “This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply; that they may be sound in the faith; Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.” (Titus 1:10-11, 13-14)
